Just with an awesome 6-liter engine producing a mega 600 horsepower, the off-roader from Crewe just snatched the title of the globe's fastest SUV. For this very prosperous year, 2017, a new model joins the very large family tree of Bentley: a Diesel-powered Bentayga. coming not only as the first diesel-powered Bentayga, it's also the very first diesel-powered Bentley.

Drawing inspirational sources from the Audi SQ7 SUV's turbo charged V8, the Bentayga uses a revised 4-litre V8 engine, that produces as much torque as the petrol engine but with the ability to be both; more fuel efficient and cleaner..

THE NEW DIESEL-POWERED BENTAYGA 1ST GENERATION

  Popular Top Gear's Ollie Marriage lately had the opportunity to sample the very first Europe-only diesel engine Bentayga and he had this to say; "it's every bit as effortless, but more efficient"..In the long run, he had a lot more to say on the analysis of the great piece from Bentley.

ENGINE PERFORMANCE

Quoting Ollie "I've never driven a smoother diesel ride, there's noise, or rather an awareness of noise, but only in the same way you are aware of a W12.....it's a background hum. Unless you're standing outside, were there's a diesel clatter. Even then, it's not offensive, though. Inside, the engine note isn’t as deep and woofly as the W12’s, but there’s no vibration, no intrusion, no rattle or clank. The power delivery and speak-softly-carry-big-stick character fits the Bentayga every bit as well as the W12. I reckon that if you didn’t tell your passengers, they’d never guess the Bentayga was diesel powered.
